One Year Mark!

Today is Ty and I One year anniversary!

Our wedding so unbelievably cold. We didn't get very many pictures outside because of it.
Notice I'm wearing my coat underneath the blanket as well.

This is my favorite from the DAY.

I can hardly believe the time that has flown by. Last night, Ty and I were talking about it and neither of us feels like it's been that long. Really it seems like only a few months. We've experienced a lot, but at the same time nothing huge has happened. We're excited to see what this next year will bring.

I'm so happy that I found Ty. He really is the man of my dreams!

He is kind, loving. He endures my craziness. He's patient. Not to mention, he's really cute! I thank my Heavenly Father everyday that He sent someone as wonderful as Ty to me. I'm so blessed. So here's to the year past and to many more for us to come!
I LOVE YOU TY!

Decor for da house Part 2 Living Room and Dining Room

I've been out for a few weeks with being sick and then out of town, I haven't had time to catch up with my blog. Or at least not enough energy. The migraine problem only seems to stay the same or get worse so who knows.

I wanted to continue showing you my house and hope that you might be able to give me some kind of inspiration. I've done quite a bit already with what Ty and I already had (mostly Ty) and gifts of decor that we received from the wedding. (By the way, one year in a couple of days!!!! Oh I'll be posting!)

So here ya go! And feel free to suggest or critique your little hearts away.

View coming from the hallway. I love my pillows!
View of Entryway.

Entryway table. And yes those are transformers. My husband is still a child at heart. :)

Entertainment Center. Again, yes that is the old-school Nintendo. I love my husband!

I'm not sure that I want to change much with this area. I've kind of been thinking of what should I put in the basket. I have wicker balls that I could put there. Or should I leave it the way it is?

View from other side of the room. His aunt MADE that rug! There's another one under the table.

This is one of those problem areas. I finally figured that I'm going to put out Marriage Certificate up there on the blank side in a frame. I'll post pictures as soon as I can get Ty to do it. ;)

This little beauty we got at Bed, Bath, & Beyond when we used out gift cards. (*Side Note: Gift Cards are the best gifts!) This is what I've come up with so far, but you'll remember from my last post that I usually decorate it for each holiday. However, I'd like something for the in between stages. I had originally bought the wicker balls for this. What do you think?

I would say this area is pretty much set, but in serious need of an updated picture.

I finally decided to push this couch back to open up the room. Behind it is a large container for blankets and quilts. You'll never go cold coming to our house. Next to the couch is the "Music Room/Area".

This wall has become my nemesis.

SEE! It's one big wall that connects the Living Room to the Dining Room. I'm not sure what to do with it. I'm strongly considering getting a Dining room Hutch. Hooray for Craigslist, and the new CraigsHelper: SearchTempest. Check Hutch 1, 2, and 3. Which one do you like? And don't go trying to steal them :).

The Dining Room. Yup those are real swords. Seriously, my husband is every little boy's dream playmate. My Father-in-law is working on making a display case for them so their a little more child-proof. I'm still not sure whether I'll put it up in the Dining Room or the Office.

Another blank wall!

I like my table. :) Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that we are hoping buy a new one with some new chairs. The table is fine, but we would like something a little different and with more chairs. We currently only have two unbroken ones! Another one that is still usable and a folding chair when we have company.

So that's Part Deuce. Let me know your suggestions. Next time I'll show you my kitchen!

Decor for da house Part 1

I love holidays. I love them so much I try to decorate my house in accordance with each holiday as it comes along. In my Grandma J's house she has a little square frame that hangs on the wall. Inside of the frame there's a little peg and holds a different symbol for the upcoming holiday. I decided that I would try this on a larger scale.

I've already shown you how crazy I go for Christmas.

Now, I'd like invite you into my home again and show how it looked around Valentine's Day (a little late I know :( ) . . . . . . . . . . . .

The book adds just a little touch of red....
The Frog is a favorite. Ty's V-day gift from me last year. He sings ("croaks") "Somebody to Love". I love HIM!
Don't you love my little Love Gorilla.

Yes those are swords. My Father-in-law is working on a display unit for them. Not very child friendly at the moment. Haha, but they do love to ask us to look at them when they come over. Cutest thing in the world is when our little nephews (5 and 6 or 7) get to "Oooooo"ing and "Awwwwww"ing over them when we pull out the sword they ask to see. Little boys are so adorable.
Hehe. You can see me!

I also wanted to show you what I've got up this month.....

Now just in case you all were thinking that I'm incredibly rich and have the money to go crazy like this.......WRONG!!! Thank heaven for the Dollar Tree. I bought all of my Feb., March, and April decor (and some of my Christmas) for about $35 total (that includes Christmas). I love that store! However, you can see the selection for St. Patrick's Day was pretty slim. I was pretty disappointed. I don't consider myself crafty, mostly because I'm not, but I might have to and come up with a Pot of Gold or a Rainbow or another little Leprachaun. Most things you find have to do with the drinking aspect. But that's just something the country is famous for, it's not what the holiday is all about. Maybe, I should get some toy snakes!

St. Patrick's Day is also my parents annieversary, so we liked to go all out on that day (or at least the Sunday before. Cornbeef and cabbage. Green Kool-aid (one time we even died the milk green....didn't change the taste, but looked a little weird). And Mint desserts! I don't think we'll do Cornbeef and cabbage in our family. Let me know if you have any Irish meal suggestions!

Part 2 I'll show you a little more of the house and I'll be taking any suggestions. :)
